Treasury Lazy Dreamy Summer.png

Etsy Treasury

The last day of February! Spring equinox only 20 days away. Woot!

Longing for summer, traveling to it soon, and searching for nautical inspiration on the net, I ended up making a treasury on Etsy. It “only” took me 4 hours to find the images I liked, but it was worth it. During that time I went back to memories by the beach, by the lake, on the sea, feeling the sun and the salty wind. Good therapy!

Greetings from a reader

This morning I was glad to see a message by a mother in Spain who wrote about a dragon hat she made for her daughter, using the Snovej dino/dragon hat pattern. Her daughter needed an outfit for a carnival, and she refused to be a princess. She wanted to be the dragon!

The story is on her blog saracrochett.

I love seeing photos of the things people have made with my patterns. So do share with all of us. I’ll publish it. Promise!

In other news, I finally finished my first freeform crochet stitch sampler pattern! It looks like a fruit, so I call it a Fantasy Fruit. The pattern has instructions for several stitches commonly used in freeform. It comes with lots of photos! It also has both US and UK crochet terms. It’s for sale in my Etsy store, and in my new Ravelry store!

Traveling again!

In less than two weeks Maria, her husband, their one year old boy, and I (as a granny nanny) are going to Florida. Yes, it’ll be a nice mini vacation, a welcomed respite from the cold and snowy Maine. And we just happen to go to Orlando! But the real reason we’re going is to see Maria’s best friend for her baby shower.

That’s why I started looking for nautical inspiration. The friend has decided to go for a nautical theme for the nursery, and I’m about to cook up something for a gift. I’ll share about it later …

P.S. It might not feel like it, but spring is around the corner! I have to share with you Charlotte’s photo. “Hot enough to bring on spring, even here in Minnesota”, she wrote. Too funny! “Snow Melt” is a hot salsa made by Kal and me … =D
